Product Overview

High-viscosity PMMA acrylic cement radiopaque:

High V+® cement, is a high-viscosity, ready-to-use cement suitable for immediate and stable fixation of pathological fractures in a vertebral body. The cement contains a large quantity of a radiopaque agent (27% BaSO4 and 9% HAP) allowing perfect visualisation, an essential feature during percutaneous vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty procedures.
High V+® comes in the form of an ampoule of sterile liquid and a sachet of sterile powder (a liquid monomer and a powder polymer).

ADVANTAGES:

• Excellent radiopacity
• No waiting time
• Long working time
• Controlled bone filling
• Ultra-high viscosity
• Reduced risk of extra-vertebral leakage

INDICATIONS:

High V+® is indicated for stabilisation of pathological fractures of vertebral bodies during vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty procedures. Painful spine compression fractures of the vertebral body may be due to osteoporosis, benign lesions (hemangiomas) or malignant lesions (metastases, myelomas).

This product is not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any cancer.

PROPERTIES:

Viscosity of High V+ Radiopaque bone cement:

Immediately after mixing phase, viscosity of High V+® Radiopaque bone cement reaches a very high level (circa 1300 Pa.s) compared to low vertebroplasty bone cements with initial viscosity around 5-10 Pa.s or medium ones with initial viscosity around 100 Pa.s. As a consequence, risks of leakages, the most encountered problem encountered in vertebroplasty are highly reduced.

Even if viscosity is high in first stage, the injection time remains long enough to permit a safe injection: viscosity increases more slowly afterward. With High V+® Radiopaque bone cement, procedure of vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty becomes easier for the operator and safer for the patient.

Radiopacity of High V+® Radiopaque bone cement:

High V+® has a high rate of barium sulfate opacifier associated with hydroxyapatite(36.4%) for an ideal and maximum visibility during the whole procedure. It can be used either under fluoroscopy or CT scan.

Hardening / mechanical properties of High V+® Radiopaque bone cement:

The maximum temperature reached during hardening of High V+® around 56°C is far below the ISO 5833 standard, then reducing the risk of thermic necrosis. Hardening time(min) at 20°C : 16 min

Mechanical properties of High V+® are also consistent with standard ISO 5833 norms.
